In 2012, many nonprofit organizations boosted their year-end fundraising through the #GivingTuesday movement. Salsa’s own clients raised 190 percent more money on #GivingTuesday in 2012 than they did on the same day in 2011, and they also out-performed organizations that did not promote #GivingTuesday by 170 percent. But many organizations missed the boat because they weren't ready.
End-of-year fundraising doesn’t just happen in December, it takes months of building lists, inspiring and cultivating donors and testing and analyzing metrics to make the absolute most of end-of-year opportunities.
