Are you learning a lot from the Who’s Doin It Right series? This is where we share some stellar examples of those using Salsa to make the most of their organizing efforts, working to build a base of support through fundraising, communication and advocacy.
Can you wrap your head around having supporters take more than a billion actions in the name of your cause? Earth Day Network not only reached their goal in their A Billion Acts of Green campaign, launched in 2010, they are actually working on the second billion actions! With one successful campaign under their belt, EDN wanted to figure out a way to make sure supporters could see how much of a difference they were making every time they took an action.
The first step for EDN was to move all their data and applications to the Salsa platform, allowing them to better utilize their online fundraising and communication tools. Then, they engaged a transformative service provider, New Signature, to pull the supporter criteria directly from the Salsa database and input it into counter that would allow them to track pledged actions or donations in real time, displayed right on their website. The result- supporters could see just how big of an impact they were making, emphasizing the message the seemingly small actions added up to big results. Now, EDN has garnered nearly 20 million acts towards their second goal!
To get all the details on how EDN is using Salsa to reach it’s second billion acts of green goal, and specifics about their real-time counter, read the full story.
